taking some time off before a new project comes in..
yesterday, my shobe joined a Chinese singing contest. It's the one sponsored by Moldex. It's been held for several weeks in a row now. She's passed the first 3 roudns and yesterday, the finals were held at PICC. She didn't win though. Daniel was there and other of the veterans of Chinese singing contests as well. Actually, I expected either Daniel or Catherine to get the first prize of 75K, but Catherine got it. And surprise, surprise Daniel didn't get anything. The 4th and 5th place winners were not, as in WERE NOT, at all good. If I were the judge, I'd like put Daniel first, Catherine second, Sherine,3rd and the 2 guys that won 2d and 3rd place, 4th and 5th place respectively.(Sorry,don't know your names)

you know, how I've been longing for excape for years now? I honestly think that I need it more than ever. I just feel that somehow am trapped in my own home. Sometimes, I don't even want to go home anymore. Pressure is just too high. I always try to make the best out of things and smile and say that everything is fine. But really, they aren't. I'm under a lot of pressure. SOmehow, everything I do is out of a sense of responsibility. I just want to be free of all the pressure and go some where I can be myself, and live a life not dictated by what my parents want. They influence my every decision. I honestly have this feeling that if I stay here longer, the harder it will be for them to loosen their grasp. Just want a taste of freedom, is that so hard to give?

Excuse me, frankly, I don't think Daniel did well. AT ALL that night. First, he had this superior smug and conceited look on his face when he sang. Gawd, it was disturbing. Not to mention, creepy. Second, Sherine DID NOT do well at all. She did not made any impact- she was totally BLAND. All the other winners were quite deserving of their awards. And by the way, the 5th placer not only sang exceptionally well, she was also a stand out. Funny, now that I see it, all those who won that night are good-natured, in and out.
I think the reason why you're saying that Daniel had a conceited smug on his face was probably because of the song he was singing. How can you sing about pride of your home country without looking well,proud of it.
